C.F.A.I. connects public records from 100+ federal and state databases so anyone can check who they're dealing with. We built it to be open. Automated scrapers copied the entire database millions of times a day, which slowed the site for real people and pushed our costs up. So full records now need a free account: 3 full lookups a day, free. Need more? Credits and plans keep the service running and the data fresh. The official sources stay free at their agencies; what we add is the connection, the matching and the daily updates.
